Coaches & Staff


Coach Mark Crabtree will begin his 17th season as Head Football Coach at Dublin Coffman High School, with a record of 142-46 in the last 16 seasons (191 - 65 overall).  In his first year as the Rocks Head Coach, he and his staff led the Rocks to the Semi-Finals of the 2001 State Championship.  The Rocks have qualified for the playoffs 13 of the last 15 years, and were the Regional Champions in 2001, 2003, and 2007; Regional Runners-Up in 2006 and 2009; as well as OCC Champions in 2007, ’09, ‘12 and ’14.  Previously Coach Crabtree was named Mid-State League Coach of the Year in 1995, ‘96, and ‘97; and Central District Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 1995, ‘97, and ‘98 while he was the head coach at Fisher Catholic High School in Lancaster.  He was named the AP State of Ohio Division II Coach of the Year in 2000 as the head coach for St. Charles Preparatory High School; The AP State of Ohio Division I Coach of the Year in 2009; and the Ohio Capital Conference Coach of the Year in 2007, ‘09, and ‘12.  Most recently he was named the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Coach of the Year in 2012.  Coach Crabtree and his wife, Jen, will celebrate their 22nd anniversary this December.  They have 4 children:  Evan (21), Luke (17), Kinsey (15), and Dane (11).  The Crabtree’s reside in Dublin and are members of St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, where they assist with the Pre-Cana program.

Position: Linebackers/Defensive Coordinator

Coach Crager will begin his 16th year coaching at Dublin Coffman High School. He is a graduate of West Jefferson High School and Capital University.  He teaches in the Special Education Department and is the F.C.A. Huddle Leader for the football team. Coach Crager and his wife Andrea are the proud parents of three children.  Curtis Jr. is 9 years old, Kierstyn is 7 years old, and Caleb just turned 6.

Position: Defensive Ends

Coach Farrell is heading into his 5th year as a coach at  Dublin Coffman.  Prior to Coffman, he spent two seasons in Helena, MT coaching for Carroll College.  His first coaching position was at his Alma Mater, the University of St. Francis (IN), before moving west. Coach Farrell is married to his lovely wife, Erin.

Position: Outside Linebackers

Coach Dave Hatgas is in his first year at Dublin Coffman and will be coaching the outside linebackers. His prior football coaching experience includes 10 years at Miami University and North Carolina State where he served as a defensive assistant, special teams coordinator and strength and conditioning coordinator. He is a graduate of St. Edward High School and Miami University. Coach Hatgas and his wife Susan have 2 children:  John David (21) a Junior at Virginia Military Institute and Annie (15) a Freshman at Dublin Coffman. They reside in Dublin, OH.

Position: Receivers

Coach Hicks is coaching for his 23rd year at Dublin Coffman, with past experience at McConnelsville, Ohio.  He teaches Math at Dublin Coffman.  He attended both Muskingum and Ohio University, where he was a 1994 graduate.  He is proud to be part of a community that supports both academics and athletics.  Bob’s wife Suzanne, is a Guidance Counselor at Karrer Middle School in Dublin.  Bob and Suzanne have two sons, Hunter (14) and Carter (11).

Position: Cornerbacks

Coach Hundley is entering his 32nd year of coaching, but only his 3rd at Dublin Coffman. He has coached at Hamilton Township, Reynoldsburg, Scioto, Jerome High Schools. Coach Hundley will be teaching Health at Dublin Coffman. Coach Hundley has been married to His wife Sally for 33 years. They have three children; Cori (26), Josh (21), and Sam (19).

Position: Safeties

Brandon Moorer enters his tenth season coaching and first year with the Rocks. Brandon is from Westerville, Ohio and attended Westerville South. Besides high school, Brandon spent a season coaching college football in North Carolina. Brandon lives in Hilliard with his wife Deanna and son Kaiden(1.5)


This will be Bill’s 20th season as a volunteer on the Rock’s staff.  Bill also played a significant role in the support & development of the Dublin Football League by providing coaching and leadership for 15 years. Born in Appleton, Wisconsin, Bill is a true “Cheesehead.  He graduated from Ripon College where he had a successful football career as a 4 year starter and Team Captain, earning AP All-America Honors and is a member of the Ripon College Athletic Hall of Fame.

Position: Running Backs

Coach Sims has been an assistant coach under Coach Crabtree at Fisher Catholic, St. Charles, and Dublin Coffman.  Coach Sims attended Fisher Catholic and graduated from Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.  He went on to play baseball at Elon College.  Coach Sims is the proud father of two daughters, Allie (20) and Maddie (16).

Position: Offensive Line

Coach Turner is entering his 28th year of coaching high school football.  This will be his 15th year at Coffman coaching the offensive line.  Coach Turner is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in social studies education.  This will be his 23rd  year teaching and his 17th at Coffman serving as the IB history teacher.  He and his wife Jennifer have been married for 22 years and reside in Pataskala with their son Bryant age 14, and Ayla age 10.

Position: Wide Receivers

Coach Rafferty is in his third year coaching at Dublin Coffman. This is his 13th season of coaching football, five years at the college level. He is a native of Canton, Ohio, and a graduated  of Grove City College in Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Capital University Law School and is an attorney with The Taps Law Firm in Columbus. Coach Rafferty and his wife, Deb, are the parents of three children, Cathy, Betsy and Jack, who was the Quarterback of Coffman’s 2003 Regional Championship team.

Position: Offensive Line

Coach Warren is entering his 11th year coaching football at Dublin Coffman.  He is a graduate of both Dublin Coffman High School and The Ohio State University.  He teaches in the Special Education Department at Dublin Coffman.  Coach Warren and his wife Elizabeth live in Dublin.

Position: Tight Ends

Coach Vangas enters his ninth season coaching and third season with the Rocks. Chris is from Dayton Ohio and attended Dayton Chaminade Jullienne where as a senior won the Division II 2002 state championship. After high school he was awarded a scholarship to play football at the University of Pittsburgh. Chris lives in Columbus with his wife Nicole and three children Xavier (4), Cecelia (2) and Cole (3 months).
